Spencer Brown is from the state of South Carolina. Spencer is 11 years old and competes sectionally and nationally as a 12 year old. Spencer was ranked number 1 in the South in the Boys 10s age group and is currently ranked #1 in South Carolina as a 12 year old.

When Spencer was only two years old he got hooked on playing tennis after grabbing a racquet and jumping into his brother’s lesson. After learning the basics from various coaches and his parents, Spencer started competing. Age : (Rank B12s)

There are not many players as mature for their age as Spencer. When asked “What do you like about tennis specifically?” Spencer answers “That the end result is all up to me and how I play.” It is impressive that a 10 year old that can take ownership of their performance.

• His primary coaches are Cornelius Jordan and Carl Hocker at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
• He Trains 5 days a week between 2-3 hours each day.
• He uses Dartfish for stroke analysis and footwork patterns.
• He has been invited to the USTA regional camp in Atlanta/USTA National.
• He works out on the ball machine.
• He eats pasta the night before a match.
• He enjoys banging balls against bigger and stronger players to improve his skills.

Spencer’s long term goal is to play professional tennis and win a grand slam like his favorite player RAFA. His short term goal is to improve the depth on his crosscourt backhand and to continue developing an all around game that will translate from Juniors to Collegiate Levels.

When you see Spencer at an event, test his knowledge; he claims “He can tell you where any pro is from and what racquet they use.”
